Welcome to the Bible Answers Page

Bible Answers originally started in response to letters from listeners to Adventist World Radio. It has now grown to be part of Discover Online, as Frequently Asked Questions, and aims to openly and honestly reflect on the truths of the Bible in the modern world. Much of the audio on this site was first aired on AWR. Thanks to Pastors Edgar Hulbert, Herman Smit, Mike Stickland, Gudmundurs Olafsson, Ray Allen and Victor Hulbert for their help and support in researching for this site. Answers reflect the authors Christian view of the Bible and modern culture but does not necessarily represent the official views of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Can I witness?

I recently had a pastor tell me "who do you think is suppose to bring people to Christ!? - the Pastor." He was telling me that it is his job to win people to Christ not the lay people. Have I read the Gospel Commission wrongly? I have always believed that the commission is to all Christ's believers.

Parable of the Wedding Garment.

I do not understand the parable of the wedding feast told by Jesus regarding the man who came to the wedding feast without the wedding garment and was cast out.

The man accepted the invitation of the host i.e. he was like Christians who have accepted Chris t but without the righteousness of Chris t. But what I don't understand is what do I have to do to have the righteousness of Chris t? I am a Christian and I am quite fearful that I might fall in the same bracket as the man in the parable. Because I have been told that salvation is a gift from God and we only have to accept it to be saved, but in this parable it seems it is not enough just to accept but must have righteousness which I am unsure what it is.

Unequally Yoked.

Question: "My question is in the Seventh-day Adventist faith what does the term "unequally yoked" mean? Where is it referenced in the Bible? I am a Baptist by faith and want to learn more of your teachings and beliefs. In the Baptist faith unequally yoked refers to a couple, man and woman, who practices two different religions. Thank you for your response."
